The Pony Girls

Thanks to Lisa and Steve Gatliff for this photo and for the great ponies!
Recently we purchased two lovely driving ponies from Lisa and Steve Gatliff of Willow Creek Ponies in Ohio. We have decided to embark upon a mini-mule experiment. The two lovely lasses will be bred in the spring with our donkey jack herd sire, to produce mini-mules. Meanwhile, Chablis was bought bred and produced a striking pinto colt, who we named Whiskey. We had planned to sell him, but he was so nice we decided to keep him and make him a driving pony also. Chablis' half-sister, Chardonnay, has been driving nicely as a single while Chablis is busy with motherhood. She has incredible steering and we hope to show her in obstacles within the next year. Once Whiskey is weaned, we will put the pair of girls back in harness together. Our pony adventure has been great fun so far---finally got the ponies I always wanted at the age of 45 :)
A typical pony afternoon in the round bale!
